Brilliant Gallop

Company Edison's National Phonograph Company
Cylinder # 3002
Category Xylophone solo
Title Brilliant Gallop
Performed by Charles P. Lowe
Circa 1900
Announcement "Xylophone solo, Brilliant Gallop, played by Mr. Charles P. Lowe.   Edison record."

Xylophone selections were particularly popular early sound recordings.   They recorded well – that is: loud, crisp and clear – and were typically sprightly tunes.   No exception here in this fast-paced 1900 remake by Charles Lowe of his original 1897 performance.
