From 1898, the classic Blue Danube Waltz.

Blue Danube Waltz

Company Edison's National Phonograph Company
Cylinder # 13
Category Band
Title Blue Danube Waltz
Performed by Edison Grand Concert Band
Circa 1898
Announcement "Blue Danube Waltz, played by Edison's Grand Concert Band."

Enjoy this fine recording of Strauss' 1866 waltz masterpiece – the actual title, properly translated, is "By the Beautiful Blue Danube".

The piece normally starts in A-major but, being that the Edison Concert Band is a wind band, the key here is in Bb.   The low selection number (#13) is due to Edison having organized his new National Phonograph Company's catalog into alphabetized groups; the first grouping belonging to band recordings.
