Edison described this as an "old, old" song in 1906 (see below),
therefore it would be fair now to add at least one more 'old' to that description.
So, this mid-1800s popular song now
has another chance to find new ears in the 21st century.

This old, old minstrel song was originally sung by the "Christy Minstrels" many years ago.
It is probably new to many of the present generation.
A. F. Winnermore wrote the words and music.
We have had many requests for this selection.
It was a song of great popularity in its day,
and there is still in the melody that something that will make it just as popular
with those who will perhaps now hear it for the first time.
Sung without accompaniment.
