From 1895, cornetist David B. Dana performs Evening Star, the pilgrims' chorus from Tannhauser.
|
David B. Dana's recordings were very popular during this period due to their being clearly recorded. In fact, the cornet was a favorite in early recording sessions because its acoustic power generally made for loud records. Note how the announcer's voice, who undoubtedly was speaking loudly, compares to the volume of the cornet.
