 About these recordings...

Enjoy catchy tunes and snappy numbers from the late 1880's up to 1912 on high-quality CDs.

Sound transferred digitally from the original wax cylinders Although wax cylinders were originally recorded acoustically, they have been reproduced here directly from the original cylinders using a digital process that captures all the available sound.

• Each cylinder recording was individually preserved and edited by Tinfoil.com – not taken from outside sources – and without the need for or use of obtrusive digital filtering.   This assures consistently high-quality recordings.

• These digitally preserved wax cylinder recordings have the best sonic clarity available on commercial CDs.   No noise reduction filters are used, so you're getting the "real thing" – and not what someone else thinks they should sound like.

Each volume includes:
  • Shrink-wrapped high-quality CD containing over one hour of two-minute wax cylinder selections recorded digitally directly from the original wax cylinders for the best possible sound.
  • Selection notes & commentary, plus a brief history of wax cylinder recording.
CD album
Exception: Volume scIS runs less than one hour and does not contain a history of wax cylinder recording.

Music from a time when it seemed a little fun went a long way...

Warning
Many of the recordings were selected for their highly catchy tunes, interesting content, or both: You may find yourself unexpectedly humming or whistling tunes practically no one else knows!
